Welcome to Natchez!!

For those of you who are visiting Natchez for the first time, we must tell you that Natchez is the oldest civilized settlement along the banks of the Mississippi, established in 1716. The city is comprised of architectural structures that were inluenced by three different European cultures, The French, The Spanish, and The British. The bricks with which the buildings and opulent residences that make up the town were all built by slave labor, by hand. In addition to the many historic homes that are open to the public, some year round, some during Spring or Fall Pilgrimage only, Natchez has a number of attractions to draw visitors. One example is Natchez in Historic Photographs, a collection of over 500 prints that depict life on the river, the townspeople, commerce, and even the elaborate costumes worn in the days of old. There is a local winery that not only invites you to tour the facility, but offers you a taste of their produce at the end of your tour. Come visit Natchez, whether your first time or fifth time, there's something different around every corner.
