The Gayoso Dining Room
From the substantial wood furnishings to the selections of still-life art works, the formal dining area at Casa España reunites some of the key elements of Spanish décor to create a uniquely traditional style. The room is named after Don Manuel Luis Gayoso de Lemos Amorin y Magallanes, first Spanish governor of the Natchez district from 1787 to 1797 and Spanish governor of Louisiana until his death in 1799. Governor Gayoso is buried in New Orleans.
The Vidal Room
In the Casa España spirit of honoring the contributions that Spain and some of her people made to Natchez and its surrounding areas, the Vidal Room is named in honor of Don Jose de Vidal, the Spanish commandant of the new post of Concord, and for whom Vidalia, Louisiana is named after. Don Jose is buried at the Natchez City Cemetery. Many of his descendants still live in the area.
The Andalucia Room
The vibrancy of color in this room is testament to the spirit of Spain’s southernmost region where Flamenco is king. In contrast, the plush and comfortable furnishings make it and ideal place to just read, rest and relax morning, noon or night.
